10 Great Reasons to Visit Saint Barth
The most beautiful island in the Caribbean isn’t just for celebrities. What if you spent a few days there to relax? Here are the 10 best reasons to enjoy a stay in Saint Barth…
1. SAINT BARTH has 22 beaches: turquoise waters and white sand
Never overcrowded, the beaches of Saint-Barthélemy are incredible! Sometimes small, but always stunningly beautiful… The landscapes are breathtaking and the sunsets are magical. Perfect for relaxing or enjoying a romantic moment—on the wild Gouverneur Beach, for example, or with all the comfort and gastronomy within reach on the private beaches of restaurants and hotels.

2. SAINT BARTH means perfect weather!
The French West Indies are synonymous with sunshine and warmth. In Saint Barth, from December to April, it’s peak season and the weather is summery: full sun, often over 30°C—don’t forget sunscreen!
From May to June, the weather is ideal: sunny with milder temperatures (rarely below 25°C). If you want to tan, avoid the rainy season from September to November. Note that December is the height of the season, so if you plan to travel then, book your flights and accommodation in advance.
3. SAINT BARTH = gastronomy and restaurants
Gastronomy in St Barth is considered a true art of living and is internationally renowned. Each year, the island hosts a Gastronomy Festival (the St Barth Gourmet Festival) bringing together some of the world’s best chefs. French cuisine, Creole and Guadeloupean influences, refined or traditional cooking—you’ll find it all. Japanese, American, and international specialties, premium meats, seafood, and fresh fish… often enjoyed with a sea view!
Luxury lovers will lunch at EDEN ROCK, those who prefer local simplicity will choose LA CRÊPERIE de GUSTAVIA, and electro-music fans will be delighted to share a platter of “reimagined sushi” on the beach at NIKKI BEACH.

4. Duty-free shopping in SAINT BARTH
Charming traditional colorful wooden houses sit alongside the most prestigious luxury brands. A beautiful watch, a couture dress, a chic bag, celebrity sunglasses from Gustavia… whatever your shopping goal, you’re sure to find it—duty-free, no less! Your favorite spot will be the port of Gustavia, but many boutiques are scattered all over the island. Rent a car to make the most of it.
5. SAINT BARTH, a celebrity “hotspot”
With an area of just 57 km², you might run into celebrities… Dua Lipa, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jessica Alba—many stars have visited Saint Barthélemy! Between beach lounging, luxury shopping, and nightlife, a number of billionaires and showbiz stars choose it for their holidays. They all agree on one thing: they value the anonymity and tranquility.
Some stars even choose to rest there forever. This is the case of French icon Johnny Hallyday, who wished to be buried at the Lorient cemetery, in a beautiful spot he chose during his lifetime (because he used to have lunch at Jojo Burger nearby). Fans can pay their respects—the site is open to the public.
Of course, Saint Barth isn’t only for millionaires. You’ll also meet wonderful, friendly locals. 🙂
6. Enjoy a millionaire lifestyle for a weekend
Dining at a top chef’s table on a private beach, chartering a boat for the weekend, or spending two nights in a luxury hotel—it’s all possible and still affordable (as long as you don’t go too far with the champagne). What better way to start your vacation than lying on the deck of a boat and soaking up the sun in the Caribbean Sea?

7. SAINT BARTH, a paradise for yachting enthusiasts
Love boats, yachts, and tall ships? You’ll be in heaven on this island. Plan your stay during one of the renowned sailing regattas such as the legendary Bucket, the magnificent Voiles de St Barth, the West Indies Regatta featuring traditional boats, or the sporty Cata Cup. Saint Barth can also be a stopover before visiting other islands like Saint Martin, Antigua, Barbuda, or Saint Kitts and Nevis.
8. Preserved wilderness
The fauna and flora are highly diverse, with breathtaking landscapes. In the hills, on wild beaches, or in the sea, there’s always something to marvel at. There are also many diving spots along the coral reefs. With scuba gear or just a mask and snorkel, it’s pure bliss!
Our two favorite spots:
- Sea: Colombier Beach, with its turtles.
- Land: Grands Fonds, a spot with stone walls that almost feels like Ireland (but warm!).
9. True privacy during your vacation
It’s no coincidence that stars love this island. When you’re used to seeing celebrities, you don’t bother tourists! Whether you’re famous or just an ordinary traveler, locals won’t disturb you. Live your life, enjoy the sun in a bikini (or without, on certain beaches), do whatever you like. And if you travel off-season, there are even fewer people and even more space for you.
Whether visiting for the day or staying longer, you’ll be won over by the charm and elegance of St Barth—as well as its cleanliness, safety, and serenity, in town and on the beaches alike.

10. Arrival options to suit your preferences… and your budget!
You can reach Saint Barth from Saint Martin by small plane or by ferry. The ferry has the advantage of being much cheaper and offers a pleasant one-hour ocean crossing between Saint Martin and Saint-Barthélemy (with a complimentary drink on board). Arriving in GUSTAVIA is a truly emotional moment. And the return to SAINT MARTIN in the evening offers a unique sunset view—perfectly “Instagrammable.”
On site, you can rent a scooter, a car, or a Jeep (a 4×4 is recommended for more comfortable travel around the island). VOYAGER Ferry also offers attractive packages combining the ferry crossing (round trip) with vehicle rental on the island.
